چکیده

This paper presents an angular correlation analysis of the Green Bank 4.85 GHz radio catalog (Gregory & Condon 1991) of 54,579 sources (S > 25 mJy). The Green Bank catalog is found to be complete to S 35 mJy over 20 < 74 , 0 h < 24 h , and Galactic latitude jbj 10. The 2-point angular correlation function shows evidence for the clustering of radio sources, with a power-law distribution consistent with a slope = 0:8. This may well provide the first detection of an angular correlation in a large area, complete deep radio survey.

Observations of free–free and anomalous microwave emission from LDN 1622 with the 100 m Green Bank Telescope

LDN 1622 has previously been identified as a possible strong source of dust-correlated anomalous microwave emission (AME). Previous observations were limited by resolution meaning that the radio emission could not be compared with current generation high-resolution infrared data from Herschel, Spitzer or Wide-field Infrared Sky Explorer. This paper presents arcminute resolution mapping observat...

The Two-Point Angular Correlation Function and BATSE Sky Exposure

The Two-Point Angular Correlation Function is a standard analysis tool used to study angular anisotropies. Since BATSE’s sky exposure (the angular sampling of gamma-ray bursts) is anisotropic, the TPACF should at some point identify anisotropies in BATSE burst catalogs due to sky exposure. The effects of BATSE sky exposure are thus explored here for BATSE 3B and 4B catalogs. Sky-exposure effect...

Measurement of the angular correlation function of radio galaxies from the NRAO VLA Sky Survey

We quantify the angular distribution of radio sources in the NVSS by measuring the two-point angular correlation function w(θ). By careful consideration of the resolution of radio galaxies into multiple components, we are able to determine both the galaxy angular clustering and the size distribution of giant radio galaxies. The slope of the correlation function for radio galaxies agrees with th...

Multi-frequency measurements of the NVSS foreground sources in the cosmic background imager fields

Context. We present the results of the flux density measurements at 4.85 GHz and 10.45 GHz of a sample of 5 998 NVSS radio sources with the Effelsberg 100 m telescope . Aims. The initial motivation was the need to identify the NVSS radio sources that could potentially contribute significant contaminating flux in the frequency range at which the Cosmic Background Imager experiment operated. Meth...

The correlation function of radio sources

We investigate the large-scale clustering of radio sources in the Green Bank and ParkesMIT-NRAO 4.85GHz surveys by measuring the angular two-point correlation function w(θ). Excluding contaminated areas, the two surveys together cover 70 per cent of the whole sky. We find both surveys to be reasonably complete above 50mJy. On the basis of previous studies, the radio sources are galaxies and rad...
